Cut from that interview was this little gem about Aces High. It followed on from a comment I made about Dickinson being an airline pilot and how much input he had into the song:
``Steve wrote the lyrics to
Aces High, that's the irony of
the thing. But when I saw it I
said we had to have on the
cover art Eddie in a Spitfire
with a bullet hole through his
head. He's had his brains
blown out but he's still going.
He doesn't need brains, he's
Eddie!
``We were brought up on
Biggles stories _ I certainly
was _ and built my share of
Luftwaffe and RAF Fockes
and Spitfires, most of which
were sent to their fiery doom
filled with lighter fluid out of
the bedroom window."
